Update on "The Help"

The Academy Award (Oscar Award) statuette PhotoMontgomery native Octavia Spencer received an Academy Award AND a standing ovation last night for her role as Minny Jackson in "The Help."

Spencer was the obvious choice to play the scene-stealing Minny because her friend, author Kathryn Stockett, based the character of Minny on her.  And the rest, as they say, is history.

We'll be discussing the book and film at our Adaptations AfterParty Tuesday, Feb. 28th, at 6:30 p.m.
